Rumour: the end of Hidden Side

Post by Bricksterdam »

This morning I see a few people 'confirming' on social media that this Summer's wave was the last one for Hidden Side. No major fansite has reported this yet so I still consider it a rumour.

If it is true however, this would be very sad in my view. Although not every set appealed to me, we've gotten some really nice ones in it's short existance. And for me that means: it was a theme that brought really cool prints and parts in the sets. Also it was a LEGO original IP instead of yet another license and I preferred it over Nexo Knights and Chima (and later Monkie Kid).

If there's confirmation I will update this topic and probably do some sort of tribute to what I think Hidden Side has given us LEGO fans (probably a parts highlights)

@buslover1992 you're also a fan of the theme?

Not necessarily a fan. But I had a look after Brother from Another Brick put up a video about Hidden Side. It's not really selling.

It's a strange thing, I have a feeling it's not really selling in the States while doing better in Europe (based on observations in stores etc). Although there were some sales...

I think it will end. And I see the Mario stuff as a new attempt to create a mesh between digital and lego play.. But I think it both is just a mess.

The Hidden side models are mostly awesome though, if you ignore and mod out the odd stuff intended for the digital play stuff.
