What an impressive lighted city! Wonderful! Since when are you collecting?

This cool guy must be your sigfig, am I right?

Yes, that's my sigfig! Thank you for the compliments on my city. I've only been collecting for a couple years. Once I bought the old fishing store, i was hooked! Then my first modular was the detective's office and I haven't been able to stop

It is a mayor impressive city! I got hooked at the Diner
So you are in it a bit longer than I am.
I think that cloud looks AWESOME, it is heavely impressive you worked out something that makes it both day and night displayable. That, and you have a big canvas to work with - that is awesome! I have experimented with a bit lighting but not a whole lot.
What do you use for lighting?

Inside the cloud is an LED strip that can change through multiple functions/colors. Most of the buildings are lit up with "Lightailing" brand light kits. And then some of the street light and the traffic signal and such are from "Brick loot" they have a system called light linx that let's you create power cords as long as you need and you can hook up something like 50 LEDs to just 1 usb port. There are other excellent light kit companies, but they are based elsewhere. One is in Australia and the other "brick stuff" is UK based.

We are kind of going offtopic, so sorry - I'll move our conversation about lighting to a new one.

Yes
the storm above the city is a bit like the "great red spot" storm on Jupiter. It's always there.
the minifigs never complain though
